“Martin's involvement with Fontem Ventures has been a game-changer for me, suddenly I wasn't talking 'technology' with a senior technology leader but business. His role has been invaluable in step-changing our direction.”
A short bio
Anyone who knows me well knows I don't particularly appreciate writing about myself so I'll try to keep it short. I've spent my entire career in digital product and technology, wearing many hats. I started toying with a career in system administration around 2005 before transitioning into a developer, architect, consultant and eventually CTO.
For the last six years, I've fulfilled leadership (technology and business) roles in fast-growing, global companies. All of them were at least $150M in revenue and had double-digit YoY growth rate, making them a chaotic, yet gratifying experience. Some, like Suitsupply, grew from scratch while others, like Fontem, served as incubators for Fortune 500 companies looking to create something new or different.
These days I spend my time as an independent consultant for organizations big and small. I enjoy working with companies of all sizes, although I'm particularly biased towards challenges of scale-ups. If you think I can help you, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Other than consulting, I volunteer my time helping early-stage startups directly or via various accelerators. If you are one and need advice, just give me a shout! Always happy to chat. I live near Amsterdam with my wonderful wife who (for whatever reason) still tolerates me after eight long years.
